In course 6, you will learn how to apply more advance techniques to experience different ways of approach to watercolor washes, and combine them into a composition during the first half the course. In the second half of the course, you will learn some of the main scratching and resisting techniques such as masking, taping, and waxing. These techniques can be used for highlights, creating particular effects, or if you wish to protect certain areas of your painting. There are range of limited techniques available to the watercolor painters, so you will be encouraged to practice on devising methods of your own for controlling and manipulating the way you apply the paint.
In the second half of the course, you will practice on creating atmosphere in two main areas of painting: landscape and abstract painting. You will be focusing on the study of light and color unity in a landscape. Many artists have used color most effectively to describe a range of weather conditions. You will practice on how colors react to each other creating abstract composition, meanwhile, you will be creating seasonal atmospheric lights by building up layers of warm and cold tones.
